an artist’s look at some of the best in the world.  Study
beautiful landmarks and cities around the world, then learn
to render them in living color.

Eric McRay Teaching Experience:  McRay received a BFA degree at the Maryland Institute, College of Art, where he earned a four-year scholarship for his artistic talent.  A native of Washington, DC, McRay started his teaching career at the age of 16 teaching youth at the YMCA and the Capitol Hill School. Over the past sixteen years, McRay has had a varied range of teaching & lecturing experiences with United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake, Mary Phillips School, Longview School, Tammy Lynn Center for Developmental Disabilities, Jerry's Artarama, Cary Visual Arts, Cary Arts Center, The Salvation Army, Wake County Public Schools, NC State University, Saint Augustine’s University, Artspace, and various NC arts councils.

Paint coastal landscapes inspired by the Impressionists and Post-Impressionists concepts of Cezanne, Monet, and Van Gogh! Learn how to capture sunlight, create atmosphere, and express luminous color that captures the mood and spirit of your favorite coastal location or beach. Create paintings using a limited palette, complimentary colors, and thick application of paint. Come join us on this artistic adventure. Supply List provided.

Rising 3rd–5th grade

Explore fun and inventive ways to create imagery with collage/papier collĂ© (French: pasted paper or paper cut outs). Students will create people, animals, portraits, and a world of fantasy. Be ready to experiment and play with fibers, fabric, paper, photos, and more!
