Join master collagist, Eric McRay for a dynamic learning experience. Come learn new ways to look at collage/papier colle’ (French: pasted paper or paper cut outs).
This collage workshop is open to the beginner, intermediate or advanced artist. In this workshop you will create your own unique collage artwork, utilizing painted papers, photographic reproductions, photos, scraps of fabric, and elements from magazines, paint, and more.
Through collage techniques you will experience a truly unique way of approaching your art!
Supplies to bring:
-canvas board 8 x 10, or 9 x 12, or 11 x 14, up to 18 x 24
-illustration board 8 x 10, or 9 x 12, or 11 x 14, up to 18 x 24
-Golden heavy gel (semi gloss)
-Golden gel medium (semi gloss)
-Canford or Murano paper - various colors
-rice papers
-brushes for gel medium - flats or brights, at least ¾ in wide.
-scissors
-X-acto knife and extra blades
- a cork-backed, or non-slip ruler – 12in, 18in or 24in, depending the size of your board
-An assortment of Matisse acrylic paints
-An assortment of synthetic brushes – Polar Flo and Ebony Spendor are good choices,
-black Sharpies
-graphite pencils
-magazines
-old photos
-color copies of old photos
